One of CRUDAN’s notable milestones in recent times was the just concluded National DRR Coalition meeting that was held from 31st of May to 2nd of June 2022 at its National Headquarters in Jos.
Notably, the meeting which was held at the behest of its National Management was envisioned to design a National Strategy expectedly to serve as a springboard for DRR in Nigeria.
Remarkably, the meeting which was well attended vide physical and distant contacts was exceptionally very impactful, refreshing, and participatory.
Interestingly, participants who were drawn from CRUDAN’S statutory zones and the Headoffice gleefully brainstormed on CRUDAN’S Thematic Areas embedded in its National Framework.
Some of the major highlights of the meeting asides from the fashioning of a workable national action plan, include inter alia; the drafting of a National Memorandum of Understanding for Coalition Members, and the Advocacy visit to Jos South Local Government Legislative Council.
Amazingly, the Advocacy visit to Jos South Local Government Legislative Council played an overbearing role in advancing the frontiers of CRUDAN’S impactful forays in global humanitarian outreach starting from its immediate environment which is in tandem with the saying that ” charity begins at home.”
Equally very notable at the just-concluded meeting was the address of CRUDAN’S Executive Director to participants. The ED in her characteristic down-to-earth demanour appreciated participants for braving the odds to physically be in Jos for the meeting. She further enjoined them to continue to work assiduously to ensure that the lofty ideals on whose predicate CRUDAN was established are realized. She concluded her address with a word of prayers and on that note, the meeting came to an end but not until some participants expressed their profound appreciation for the unprecedented hospitality showered on them by CRUDAN.
